The University of Freiburg is located in the city of Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Württemberg, in the southwest of Germany. With the famous Black Forest near Freiburg, students here live in a rich natural environment. Founded in 1457, the University of Freiburg is one of the oldest universities in Germany. Many of its buildings are located in the old town of Freiburg, allowing easy access to the city center. A comprehensive university, it currently has over 24,000 students, with more than 5,000 faculty members, and attracts international students from a number of countries. The University of Freiburg signed an exchange agreement with Matsuyama University in 2002.
